Tri-Fives represent such an iconic part of Chevrolet’s history spanning from 1955 to 1957. This includes the well-known One-Fifty, Two-Ten, Bel Air, and Nomad of those years along with the lesser known sub-models like the Delray coupe, Handyman, Townsman, and Beauville wagons. This coming June we will celebrate all that is “Tri-Five” with a special display and numerous activities planned including a Tri-Five parade at the show. Have a Tri-Five and want to be part of the fun? You can do so in two ways. You can register your Tri-Five for the Showfield or if you think you have a Tri-Five that is awesome or super interesting you can apply for a space inside the special display. In 1985, Chevrolet introduced the IROC-Z, a Camaro version named after the International Race of Champions. Featuring an upgraded suspension, the “wonder bar”, a special decal package, unique wheels and tires, and an optional TPI system from the C4 Corvette, these Camaros made Car and Driver’s Ten Best List for 1985. Join us in June here at the GM Nationals as we celebrate 40 years of these historic cars that set the 80’s pony car market on fire!

We will have two unique displays, one in Building T featuring primarily stock, rare, and historic examples of the IROC-Z, and one in a tent with the Third Gen Nationals area of the NPD Showfield featuring modified and custom examples. Both displays will play a crucial part of the Third Gen Nationals, a show within a show within the event. However, you don’t have to be part of the display to join in the fun either, register your IROC-Z for the NPD Showfield in the IROC-Z class (Class Number 329) or come as a spectator to the Carlisle GM Nationals. We intend to have a few guest speakers on the IROC-Z and some seminars as well. More details on that as we get closer to the event.

Corvettes for Chip is a permanent fixture at the GM Nationals! It will operate as a "Show within a Show," giving those who register for the Corvettes for Chip Showfield full access to everything GM Nationals has to offer. Registering a Corvette for the Corvettes at Chip Showfield will gain you two full days of Corvette fun, two opportunities to have your Corvette judged, and MORE! More details will be announced as the event grows closer!

Corvettes for Chip™ is an organization of Corvette enthusiasts who host an annual Corvette car show to increase the awareness of a blood disease called Amyloidosis and donate the net proceeds to the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation for Amyloidosis Research. (Corvettes for Chip 2024 is a non-sanctioned event.)

“Quality over quantity,” this saying has been around for decades, and this year the GM Nationals will once again embrace this motto as part of our special judging process. Professional judging, known as the Standard of Excellence class, will be offered again by the team members from eJudged. The Standard of Excellence Judging class is limited to 50 cars maximum so pre-registration is highly recommended. We take this approach so the judges have time to thoroughly look over each car, offering the best quality service for our participants. Day-of registrations will be accepted, but reserving your space ahead of time is always a good idea. The Standard of Excellence participants will be part of an elite group of cars with their own special section of the NPD Showfield. Cars within the Standard of Excellence class will be given unique awards for the top 15 cars and the Standard of Excellence; Best in Show winner will receive a cup trophy. Judged cars are eligible for Celebrity Choice awards, which take place on Saturday of the event, and are invited to take part in the Winner’s Presentation on Saturday PM. 
 

We believe that one of the most honorable awards you can get at the Carlisle GM Nationals is a Celebrity Choice Award. But do you really know what a Celebrity Choice award means? The deemed "celebrities" are notable people in our hobby, such as special guest, engineers who were the visionaries on the cars you love, to club leaders who make it their mission to bring people to the event each year. Getting a Celebrity Choice award is a true honor because that celebrity is picking one car out of the whole Showfield that means something to them. It's not the traditional judging, as there is no point scoring, but a personal reason behind why someone likes your car. 

Celebrity Choice selections takes place on Saturday of the show. Celebrities will walk the grounds to find that one car that gets their pick. You will know you are a winner right away, because there will be a special sticker on your car, as well as a document that notifies you that you won. Your autographed award will be available for pickup on Saturday evening!

Carlisle Events' staff will be roaming the GM Nationals/NPD Showfield on Friday of event weekend in search of their ten favorite vehicles to become the newest members of the Carlisle Elite. To be picked for the Carlisle Elite, your car doesn’t have to be rare or a high dollar, professional restoration. In fact, the only real criteria is that it catches our collective eye. Make sure your car is registered and parked on the Showfield on Friday to be eligible.

Part of what makes GM Nationals what it is, are the clubs that attend! If your club is not yet deemed an Officially Recognized Club, the first step is to apply. Officially Recognized Clubs have the ability to rent a club tent as a place to hang out and socialize throughout the show!

If your club gets a club tent, you also have the chance to compete in our Hemmings Club Challenge & Coolest Club Contest! The Hemmings Club Challenge Award is presented to the five largest official clubs, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Coolest Club Contest is based on if we feel like your club tent is the place we'd want to hangout in. Whether that be the atmosphere, decorations, or anything else that makes the club stand out!

Carlisle Events and the folks from the National Nostalgic Nova Club have teamed up to create a special meet within the GM Nationals NPD Showfield. The annual Novas at Carlisle "show within a show" is held throughout the event weekend. All fans of the Nova, regardless of club affiliation, are welcome to be part of this huge Nova Showfield. Nova classes have a designated highlighted area and attendees are welcome to join in all the fun under the Pavilion and the blue Showfield. Registration for Nova classes is still the same as in years past, there are simply more classes to choose from!  

On top of the special display cars, Novas at Carlisle will also feature several seminars geared towards Nova tech and history. The seminars are open to all attendees of the GM Nationals and will take place in the Pavilion. 
  
This is a great feature for fans of Chevy's cool compact, so be sure to come out and join your fellow Nova nuts in June!

On Saturday of Carlisle GM Nationals, visit the track at to get your fix for tire burning excitement during the Rolling Burnout and Donut Contest!

This year will feature multiple ways to get your burnout going. Participants can chose from the following:

1. Do a rolling burnout down the track!
2. Do a donut on the fresh donut pad!
3. Do a wicked rolling burnout into a donut onto the pad! 

The contest is limited to 10 contestants and sign-ups will begin Friday at Guest Services. You must be a registered participant at the show and provide your driver’s license & insurance card when signing up.

The only thing better than a show-ready ride is a show-ready ride on the race track! The on-site autocross allows drivers to run the road course and compare their times to each other. Even better, it is free! Enthusiasts are able to make 3 timed runs consisting of 2 laps each. Times are provided to compare with other drivers. 

Any vehicles looking to participate must register at the track and pass tech. Participants must have a registered (and street legal) car on the GM Nationals Showfield, be 18 years of age or older and have a valid license and insurance. Participants are REQUIRED to bring their own helmets for safety. You will be unable to participate if you don't have one. 

Helmets are REQUIRED. Helmets must be SNELL Foundation certified, either “SA” (Special Application),“SAH” (Special Application Helmets Configured for use with frontal head restraints), “M” (motorcycle), or “EA” (Elite Automotive Sports). A SNELL foundation rating of “K” (karting) is NOT allowed. A DOT approval is not sufficient without the SNELL certification. A helmet from the second previous testing cycle is also allowed if it is SNELL certified and has a manufacture date less than ten (10) years old. e.g., in the year 2014, SNELL ratings of SA2005 or M2005 and SA2010 or M2010 will be legal. In addition, a SA2000 or M2000 helmet would be legal until they exceed 10 years of age. 

*Due to safety concerns, stock height SUVS and trucks may be excluded from autocross.

Bruce Larson, Carlisle’s resident noise-maker, returns this year to host Nitrofest! Bruce, an NHRA champion and all-around car guy, will be here to share his amazing USA-1 funny car. Bruce’s tent will be located close to the main stage and he will be doing a series of startups for us during the Friday and Saturday show hours. Don’t miss your chance to see, hear and smell the Nitro while Bruce disturbs the peace at the GM Nationals.

Don't miss the Rolling Exhaust Contest as cars will start in a line behind the pavilion (close to Gate 6) and roar as they accelerate up the hill to the north side of the grounds. This contest will be judged but take note, the best overall sound will take home the prize, not necessarily the loudest!

The contest consists of one round, hosting 25 cars. The Exhaust Contest is FREE but you MUST be registered on the NPD Showfield to be eligible to participate! Sign up in Guest Services starting on Friday at 7AM. This is a first-come, first-served basis and we do expect the round to be filled so please sign-up early!

Topics include performance, restoration and maintenance. Seminars are conducted by some of the biggest names in the business and just remember, they are FREE!

This year, be sure to participate in the Autocross Real Street Shootout, taking place Friday of event weekend. It will begin with check-in followed by a driver's meeting and tech inspection. This FREE activity is being supported by UMI Performance. It's fast, it's furious and it's fun! 

If you think you and your car have what it takes to compete in the shootout, signup for the contest at Guest Services starting on Friday. This activity is a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to sign-up when you get here! The top three finishers will receive a trophy and will each get a cash payout! If you want to have some fun on the track, this is your chance…and it’s FREE!! 

Participants must have a registered (and street legal) car on the GM Nationals Showfield, be 18 years of age or older and have a valid license and insurance. Participants are REQUIRED to bring their own helmets for safety. You will be unable to participate if you don't have one.

RC Car Giveaway & Kids Cash Grab- Kids 12 and under can sign-up to potentially win an RC Car! When signing up for the giveaway, they are also eligible to be chosen for the Kid's Cash Grab. For decades, buying a ticket to Auto Mania meant arriving the day of, pulling out your wallet and paying cash at the gate. Did you find your name on this year's winners list? If so, you are invited to participate in the Awards Presentation in front of the stage on Saturday evening. The first step is to go to Guest Services to pick up your award. Those that win and wish to participate in the Awards Presentation will parade their car in front of the Grandstand to be announced and to get photos.

Professional photography is available at the Awards Presentation and pictures are available for purchase under the Grandstand. Please refer to the Event Guide for the official times (published two weeks prior to the event).

If you cannot attend the presentation or pickup your award on Saturday evening, we have options for you. After the show you may pick up your award during regular business hours at the fairgrounds, request to have your award shipped for a fee, or pick it up at any Carlisle Events Show up until one year after the event.

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?” 

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!

1. BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
2. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
3. SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
4. REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
5. COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
6. ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
7. NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
8. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
9. LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
10. USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
11. STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day. Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
12. BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
13. BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
14. HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
15. FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride. 
16. ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
17. KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
18. AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
19. WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
20. ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for.  It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare.
